At Real Roots Food Systems Mark Davis, with the help of a community of amazing people, grow a long list of produce every year. Setting up their very own market in from of Pizza Bones RVA, the farm has made a name for its fresh and local produce. Along with growing, at Real Roots they tackle the rough realities of our current food systems and agricultural landscapes. Through workdays and initiatives such as local composting, they find small ways to include the community in a shift towards living with the nature and not just living in it. They strive to educate current and next generation stewards to develop food systems that create symbiotic relationships between man and the land. On farm, they focus on regenerative growing methods protecting both the water and the soil. Real Roots plans to continue to be a space for “agricultural and nutritional knowledge for anyone worldwide that is committed to the shift of human consciousness and the liberation of the masses”.
