Dee Hall sells amazing cut flowers grown on urban city plots out of Norfolk, Virginia. Using no till and regenerative methods, Hall converts urban city plots into beautiful flowers she sells at markets and online through her website. Mermaid City Flowers takes pride in providing local specialty cut flowers that are not only beautiful but contribute to the ecosystem in multiple ways. Dee learned to love the land through her ancestors and is carrying on her legacy through earth work. Her growing is influenced by her family's heritage in horticulture across the Diaspora. She is the founder of Black Flower Farmers, which is a group of Black specialty cut flower growers from around the world who gather for mutual support, community, and networking. Dee is also the founder of the Tidewater Flower Collective, which aims to educate the public about the importance of locally grown flowers and support local commercial cut flower growers. With much ambition she is looking forward to expanding business. Orders are always taken through her website and flower subscriptions are available.
